FIVER
(Toronto, ON)

For a decade, Simone Schmidt has been writing new life into Folk and Country music, largely evading the branding of the music industry proper by adopting several aliases, performing with bands like The Highest Order and One Hundred Dollars. Her latest album under the moniker Fiver, "Audible Songs From Rockwood", is 11 songs based on two years of research into the primary documents of inmates at the Rockwood Asylum for the Criminally Insane in Kingston, between 1854-1881. Produced as a series of faux field recordings, the album is accompanied by 30 pages of liner notes that contextualize the music, detailing the history of the asylum and the power of the archive. It was long listed for the Polaris Prize.

Schmidt will be performing songs from the album, and collaborating with multi-intrumentalist Saltwater Hank.

SALTWATER HANK
https://saltwaterhank.bandcamp.com/releases
Saltwater Hank's songs will take you on a journey from through the mountains of the Bulkley Valley to the Skeena, to the saltwater out west, down the coast and eastbound to the Kootenays. His stories are inspired by the people, the land and the water of the region he calls home.

DANIEL CHALLIS
(Australia)
Australian songwriter Dan Challis shares his story through unfiltered moments; exploring the light and shade of the human experience to the rustic sounds of classic folk and outlaw country.
